Adults:

• 242 Small Group Bible Studies: Acts 2:42 says, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” All adults are encouraged to build relationships with others both inside the family and outside the family. One of the ways to do this is through participation in a 242 Group. A 242 Group is a small group (usually 3-12) of people who gather consistently for encouragement, prayer, study, and fun. The relationships that are built through these groups help members navigate through the daily joys and difficulties of life.
• Bible Studies: Bible studies provide Christians with deep and meaningful perspective as they read and study God's Word together. At St. Mark’s various Bible studies are held on Sunday morning led by both pastors and lay leaders.
• Book Club: The Novel Seeker's Book Club meets every six weeks. One of the many benefits of being in a book club is that it broadens participants’ reading experiences and people often read books that they may not pick up otherwise. The Novel Seeker’s read an array of genres including fiction, non-fiction, historical non-fiction, auto-biographies, Christian non-fiction, recent best sellers and mysteries. New members are always welcome.
• Lutheran’s For Life: “Lutherans for Life” exists to equip Lutherans and their neighbors to be Gospel-motivated voices for Life at all stages. This is accomplished through a quarterly journal, “LifeDate,” Life Sunday, speaking and preaching, national and regional conferences, and collections of tangible items.
• Martha’s Heart: Creation of this group comes from the story in the book of John about Mary and Martha. Both sisters had deep faith, but Martha also had a heart for hospitality and caring for others. St. Mark’s Martha’s Heart provides: hospital visits, pre-post-surgery phone calls, funeral luncheons, and homebound visits.
• Mission Trips: Adult Mission Trips: St. Mark’s current mission partner is Jesus es la Vida Lutheran Church in La Fragua, Guatemala. The ultimate goal, achieved through semi-yearly trips to the area, is to help this congregation acquire a better footing for reaching into their own community with the message of salvation and to empower them to be able to help their neighbors with their physical needs.
• MOPS: MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. This group offers support to all mothers of children ages birth through 5-years-old. MOPS meetings are a time for moms to relax and enjoy fellowship with other moms. The meetings typically include a devotion, a craft and a featured speaker. Friendship, relationships, and support help moms who are going through similar experiences raising young children. Childcare is offered through our MOPPETS program so that little ones can have fun while moms enjoy the meeting. • Music Ministry: The worship experience is more than hearing a message from the pastor or learning a new Scripture. Music allows people to feel emotional connections to God’s Word. Those with vocal or instrumental gifts are encouraged to inquire about participation on the Worship Team.
• Quilting Club: Women of all ages share their faith, use their gifts, learn more about quilting techniques, teach others how to quilt, serve others, and praise Him.
• Volunteer/Service Opportunities: Volunteer opportunities are abundant. Whether it is a one-time event or an ongoing commitment, there is a place to serve. Share your interest or passion and a place will be found or made for those gifts.
• Grief Share is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside those who are going through life’s most difficult experiences. No one has to go through the grieving process alone. Grief Share seminars and support groups are led by people who have received training and understand the struggles of grief and want to help. Grief Share resources will be available to help in the recovery from loss and will help participants to be able to look forward to rebuilding their lives.
• Ministry to the Blind: For adults who have visual acuity of 20/200 or greater. Eureka Blind Community Outreach meets once a month and offers adults a time for socialization, resource-sharing, networking, and a free meal. Transportation is provided for those not in a wheelchair. Those in wheelchairs who wish to attend are welcome but need to provide their own transportation.
• Membership: Twice a year, 6-week classes are held for anyone interested in learning more about the Christian faith from a Lutheran perspective. This class can serve as a membership course for those who desire it.
