Confession of Sin and Assurance of Forgiveness
Pastor: In repentant faith, we come before our Lord to confess our sins against Him and other people. (Silence for personal reflection on our sin)
ALL: Almighty God, we confess to You that we are by nature sinful. We have sinned by our selfish thoughts, our hurtful words, and our unloving actions. We have failed to live as You disciples and to be Your witness. We have been reluctant to do Your will and blind to Your presence and reign in our lives. For the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ, we pray, forgive us! Amen
Pastor: As a called an ordained servant of Christ and by His authority, I assure you all your sins are forgiven in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. May the eyes of our hearts be enlightened that we may know and do His will and live in the sure hope to which He has called us.
ALL: Amen. Thanks be to God!

“As It Is In Heaven”
St. Mark’s Lutheran School Students
First Scripture Reading:
Luke 18:1-8 (Pew Bible pg.1494)
[1] Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. [2] He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. [3] And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ [4] “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, [5] yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’ ” [6] And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. [7] And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off ? [8] I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Message
Living as a Counter—Cultural Disciple!
II Timothy 3:14 - 4:5 (Pew Bible pg.1697)
[14] But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, [15] and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. [16] All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
[1] In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: [2] Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. [3] For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. [4] They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. [5] But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

In Whom Do We Believe?
Explanation to the Second Article of The Apostles’ Creed
I believe that Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, and also true man, born of the Virgin Mary, is my Lord, who has redeemed me, a lost and condemned person, purchased and won me from all sins, from death, and from the power of the devil; not with gold or silver, but with his holy, precious blood and with his innocent suffering and death, that I may be his own and live under him in his kingdom and serve him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness, just as he is risen from the dead, lives and reigns to all eternity. This is most certainly true.
Prayers Of The Day
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
