Advent Reading From Scripture
Luke 1:68-79 (Pew Bible pg. 1458)
[68] “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them. [69] He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David [70] (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago), [71] salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us— [72] to show mercy to our ancestors and to remember his holy covenant, [73] the oath he swore to our father Abraham: [74] to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear [75] in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. [76] And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, [77] to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, [78] because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven [79] to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

Tithes & Offering
Hymn: “Comfort, Comfort Ye My People”

Psalm Of Praise
Psalm 98 (Pew Bible pg. 857)
[1] Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. [2] The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations. [3] He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. [4] Shout for joy to the Lord , all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; [5] make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, [6] with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn- shout for joy before the Lord , the King. [7] Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. [8] Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; [9] let them sing before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.
